Family & Counselling Service

We believe that family is the foundation of society and it is the core of stabilizing individuals and society.  Individuals and families grow, develop and face changes all the time. Our service would like to play a role in enlightening, supporting and facilitating the healing for individuals and families.  We would also link up various community resources to build up a more pro-family environment, to walk side by side and grow with individuals and  families.

We have been providing counselling service and family life education to families as early as the 1970s. We established two Integrated Family Service Centres in 2004 and 2011 respectively, providing one-stop of diversified services. In 2009, many people encountered adversity due to changes in Hong Kong economy. In view of such situation, we launched a special project of counselling service for Hong Kong residents in distress.  Later, it has been developed as a very low fee-charging professional counselling service.

In 2017, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust funded $225 million for KeySteps@JC. It is a Trust-initiated five-year project with aims to build an integrated model involving medical, education and welfare sectors as well as to provide critical support for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to build stronger foundations. This is a collaborative effort amongst The University of Hong Kong, The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Christian Service. Our KeySteps@JC provides service in Sham Shui Po District.
